Crossroads is a group of young adults (Post-High School-25) that exists to multiply disciples who glorify God by going to all peoples, gathering in community, and growing in Christ. Whether you are a student at WMU, KVCC, Kalamazoo College, or at the onset of your career, Crossroads is a great place to grow in Christian community.

Leadership

Austin Dosh assists the Elders at Calvary by providing dedicated shepherding care, leadership, and organization for Crossroads. He serves under Mike Ruiter (Elder) and David Kaneversky (Pastor) to ensure the implementation of a Biblical vision for Young Adult ministry at Calvary.

Austin and Abby Dosh were married in 2019 and their daughter was born in 2022. After a brief career in pharmaceuticals, Austin joined the staff at Calvary in 2021 to lead the college ministry and campus outreach activities of CBC. He studied Chemical Engineering at Western Michigan University and is completing his Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) at The Expositors Seminary in Grand Rapids. He enjoys camping, hiking, reading old books, teaching God’s Word, and discipling men and he is passionate about seeing young men and women grow toward maturity in Christ. Abby enjoys trying new recipes, being outside, and meeting with young women to study the Bible and talk about life. She worked at Consumers Credit Union for several years and now focuses her time on supporting her husband, raising their family, and investing in young women.

Mentors

Our mentors are eager to provide caring support, Biblical counsel, and intergenerational perspective for our young adults.

Russ and Sandy Smith have been married for almost 24 years. They are native Georgians who landed in Kalamazoo 8 years ago. Russ currently serves as Calvary’s Executive Director, and Sandy homeschools their daughter, Corinne, a high school senior, and directs Challenge IV with Classical Conversations. They are huge Georgia Bulldog fans who both enjoy reading and spending time together outdoors. What excites them about ministering in Crossroads is the opportunity to pour into the lives of young adults and to help them grow in their relationship with Christ.
