And it will be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, Remove every obstacle from the way of My people.” For this is what the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite. For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made. Because of the wrongful act of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was angry, And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart. I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners, Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far away and to him who is near,” Says the Lord, “and I will heal him.” But the wicked are like the tossing sea, For it cannot be quiet, And its waters toss up refuse and mud. “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

Isaiah 57:14-21

NEWS

Student Ministry Director Update: Praise and thanks to God! We are pleased to announce that Nathaniel Mumau will be joining our staff as Student Ministry Director! Nate and his wife Adrianna already live in Kalamazoo, and he will be starting in May. There will be more information and a formal introduction coming soon.

The Ministry Support Staff is looking for a Summer Intern to help with special projects. This is a paid position for someone looking to gain Office experience. The candidate must regularly attend Calvary Bible Church, and be in agreement with our Constitution and Statement of Faith. We are looking for someone with some computer experience and a love to serve the Lord. Please contact the Church Office or email Heather Schutz for more information.

The Elders have approved the following people for Membership: Josh Beck, Jean Gagliardo, and Timothy MacNeill.

There will be a Parent Dedication on May 12 during the morning services, where parents will have the opportunity before the congregation to commit to raising their child in a biblical manner and for God’s glory. If you are interested in participating, there are two required dedication classes meeting April 28 and May 5. To sign up contact angela.haner@calvarybible.org, call the church office, or click here. Registration closes on April 22.

Can you make time to invest in developing a passion for godliness? Each Tuesday, 6:30—7:30 a.m., a Men’s Bible Study meets in room 214. We study, digest, and grow in understanding of God’s Word. The men range in age from college to Senior Saints. We are open to CBC members and non-CBC believers. This group is made of engaging, supporting, and edifying men who want to know God more personally. Come try us once, return often to grow in grace. We will begin a new study through 2 Corinthians on April 30. Please join us.

The holidays can be a hard time if you’ve lost a loved one. GriefShare is offering a Special Session called, “Surviving the Holidays”, Tuesday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in Room 214. All are welcome to join us.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Bus Driver Needed: We are in need of at least three additional drivers to serve one Sunday afternoon per month with our ministry to immigrants from Africa. We host a Swahili service from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. each Sunday, but many who would like to attend are unable due to lack of transportation. If you are not already an approved driver, we can work to get you trained! If you would like to serve in this capacity, please contact Russ Smith in the church office.

Our Children’s Ministry for our 2 year old through 5th grade classes is a little different for the summer months than it is during the school year. We need more volunteers for the summer months. We are asking for volunteers to serve once a month (3 times) during the summer if possible. If you can serve only once or twice, we would appreciate that as well. This is a great place to start if you love children and not sure where God would have you serve. This is also a great way to serve as couples or with a friend. We need 2 adults for each age group for each service every week. We need volunteers for the 9:00 a.m. service and for the 10:30 a.m. service starting June 9 through September 1. Contact Lora West or call the Church Office for more information.

Vacation Bible School is around the corner and we need your help! Join us, as we take the kids on a journey from Genesis to Revelation, making 7 key stops along the way! June 24 - 28 will be a week filled with fun, laughter, excitement and most importantly, Truth! Click here to sign up and don’t miss out on the BEST week of the summer!

Thank You

Heaven has been such a comfort to us since Ray’s passing. But it can also feel so far away. You, dear Calvary Family, have brought it wonderfully close with your cards, kind words and provisions, and hugs. Thank you for loving us so incredibly at this time. - Carolyn Schroeder and Family
